Oatmeal Cookies

Overview

I have always thought that butter and other animal oils are high in calories, but little did I know that vegetable oils are not inferior at all in terms of calories alone! For every 100g of ingredients, butter contains 888kcal, 98g fat, and 296ug cholesterol; lard contains 898kcal, 99.6g fat, and 93ug cholesterol; corn oil contains 895cal, 99.2g fat; sunflower oil contains 899cal, 99.9g fat; coconut oil contains 899cal, 99.9g fat;... Vegetable oil is healthier than animal oil, probably because it contains no cholesterol! Today's oatmeal biscuits use lard (shortening effect lard > butter > vegetable oil) in order to pursue a crispy texture. Friends who mind can use other fats instead. The calories of this biscuit are about 500kcal/100g.

  9. Make the biscuits in sequence. You can also place the biscuit material between two pieces of oil paper and roll it into thin slices of about 5mm, transfer it to the baking tray, bake it and cut it into pieces.

  10. Preheat the oven to 150°C and bake on the middle rack for 25-30 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown. The biscuits are not hard when they are freshly baked. They will harden after cooling. If they are still soft after cooling, return them to the oven and bake them for a while.
