English Shepherd's Pie
Overview
Shepherd's pie, also known as cottage pie, is a traditional British dish. It does not have a puff pastry like a pie in Western pastry, but is a flour-free pie made with potatoes, meat and vegetables and is regarded as a staple food. The aroma is fragrant when baked. When you increase the amount and use a large baking pan, it is also suitable for entertaining many people.

Steps
-
Wash the potatoes, peel them, cut them into pieces, cover them in a bowl, and microwave them on high heat for 3 minutes
-
Take it out to cool slightly, put a plastic bag on your hands, and mash the potatoes into puree. Add salt, pepper, butter and a little milk and mix well. I personally like a slightly grainy feel, so I don’t knead it particularly finely
-
While steaming the potatoes, chop the beef, onions, garlic, and mushrooms into fine pieces, blanch the broccoli and cut into small pieces
-
Melt butter in a non-stick pan over low heat, sauté garlic until fragrant, sauté chopped onion until soft, add minced beef and stir well
-
Add chopped mushrooms, broccoli, a little salt and pepper and stir-fry evenly
-
Add tomato paste and two tablespoons of flour, stir well, then pour in the stock and cook for a while until thickened
-
Spread it out in a baking bowl, cover it with a layer of mashed potatoes, and sprinkle some grated cheese
-
Place in the middle rack of the oven and heat up and down to 200 degrees for about 5 minutes until the cheese melts and colors
