Orange Arugula Salad
Overview
Arugula (roka in Turkish, rocket in English) is a vegetable commonly found in Türkiye throughout the year and used for salads. Arugula has a strong sesame aroma and a bitter yet sour taste. Turks often eat it as a side dish to grilled fish, which is very satisfying. In addition to its refreshing taste, it also has the effects of preventing cancer, strengthening the stomach, eliminating phlegm and relieving asthma. I also like to use arugula in salads, but since it has a slightly bitter taste, I often add some fruit. The salad mixed in this way has multiple flavors of sweet, sour, salty and bitter, fresh and refreshing. Oranges and pomegranates are plentiful on the market right now, perfect for this orange-flavored arugula salad.
