Braided Apple Pie
Overview
An ordinary apple pie, with just a little decoration, can make the dessert unique and particularly attractive. The following quantities can make a 6-inch apple pie.

Cut the butter into small pieces and soften at room temperature.

Add sifted flour, sugar and salt

Knead it into cornmeal with your hands.

Add egg yolks and water.

Knead it into a dough. Don't knead it for too long to avoid gluten. Cover it with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

While waiting for refrigeration, you can make the apple filling. Heat the pan and add butter. After the butter melts, add the diced apples and stir-fry. Use low heat throughout.

Add sugar. After adding sugar, the diced apples will overflow with a lot of water and cook slowly for about 3 minutes.

Add a little salt, add 20 grams of water and 10 grams of cornstarch, mix thoroughly, then thicken and cook until thick.

Turn off the heat and finally add lemon juice and mix well.

Divide 200 grams of the relaxed dough into a roll, then use a rolling pin to lift the pie crust, spread it on a 6-inch pie plate, press out the edges with your hands, and then roll the rolling pin on the pie plate to remove excess pie crust.

Roll out the other pie dough and cut out 3 strips, 0.8cm wide and 28cm long. Arranged crosswise in the middle as shown in the picture.

Start braiding the hair from the middle, then braid one side and then reverse and braid the other side.

Cut out another 20 long strips and braid them in a tic-tac-shape pattern, leaving a little space between the strips so they don’t need to be next to each other.

Use a fork to make several small holes in the bottom of the pie.

Put the apple filling in and spread it as completely as possible. Place the tic-tac-toe braid on top, cut off the excess, leaving 1/3.

Roll out a small piece of pie crust and spread it on 1/3 of the pie crust, and remove the excess pie crust. Use a flower mold to press out large and small flowers and place them on top.

Place the apple pie into the lower shelf of the Dongling K30A oven that has been preheated to 200 degrees and bake for 25 minutes.
