Shell Steamed Buns
Overview
I’ve been making a lot of pasta lately, and I saw someone sharing how to make shell steamed buns. I didn’t have that many colors, so I just made do with it myself. I thought it was quite fun. You can make it in many colors if you like.

Dissolve the yeast in warm water first

Weigh the ingredients separately and knead the dough

Stir into floc first

Knead into smooth dough

The dough is fermented until doubled

Take the pumpkin dough, add a little flour, knead it evenly, press it flat and roll it out

Fold in three

Roll it out and fold it into three folds

Roll it out long, the same goes for the purple dough

Brush the surface of the pumpkin dough with a layer of water

Overlay the purple dough

Roll up

Divide into 9 small portions and press flat

Flatten it a little and use a spatula to cut out strips

Push it in a little

Pick it up with chopsticks

Turn over and brush with a layer of water

Cover it

Make everything and let it sit for 20 minutes

Cover the lid, bring to a boil over high heat, simmer for 13 minutes, then turn off the heat and simmer for 5 minutes
