Whole wheat nut toast (simple version without oil)

Whole wheat nut toast (simple version without oil)

Overview

This time I bring you a nutritious and super simple oil-free version of nut toast. It's not oil-free, it means no butter is used. You can add dried raisins, dried cranberries, etc. to the nuts inside. This one does not require a bread machine, you can easily make soft and delicious toast!

Steps

  1. So the ingredients are prepared and weighed. The recipe uses olive oil. If you don’t have it, corn oil will also work. It doesn’t matter. Soak the dry yeast in the milk and let it sit for about 10 minutes until it is completely dissolved.

  2. Sift the flour, beat the eggs, mix all the ingredients and knead into a dough. Knead until expanded. Here, I would like to remind everyone, don’t add the sugar and salt yet, mix the other ingredients and wait until the dough is formed before adding them. The expansion stage is not unattainable. You beat it, push it, and rub it. It only takes ten minutes to pull out a large piece of film.

  3. There were no nuts in the original recipe, just whole wheat bread. I like to make delicious and nutritious bread, and as a cook who often bakes, I know that all kinds of almonds, dried raisins, dried cranberries, chopped walnuts, and oats are all common ingredients, but I often use them until the leftovers are relatively broken. This way you can make nut bread, which is waste-free and delicious. I put 35 grams, and the weight of the nuts does not exceed 70 grams.

  4. Place the dough in a warm place and let it ferment until it is 2-3 times in size. I have made a very detailed picture so that you can compare the dough before and after fermentation. It’s ok as long as your finger can be inserted into the small hole without collapsing or rebounding. When I tried it for the first time in the lower left corner, the small hole that hadn’t fermented yet was still there.

  5. Then take it out and deflate it, that is, roll it into large thin slices. This deflation method is particularly effective, and then sprinkle the nuts on top.

  6. Then wrap it into a long strip and divide it into three equal parts, or two parts. Shape into round balls. Cover with plastic wrap and rest for 20 minutes.

  7. When the time is up, continue to deflate. This step cannot be omitted. The dough wrapped with nuts will have more air. After deflating, roll it up from top to bottom, roll it out, and roll it again. Twice in total!

  8. After rolling, put the toast film in. If time is tight, put hot water in the oven to steam the mold. This is much faster, and it will be nine minutes full in about 40 minutes.

  9. Pictured above, this way you can bake it. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees for 5 minutes and bake for 35-40 minutes. If you like the bread to puff up without a lid, remember to cover it with tin foil!
