Laba porridge
Overview
Laba porridge is a porridge made with a variety of ingredients during the Laba Festival to celebrate the harvest and has been passed down to this day. According to "Jiao Te Sheng" in the Book of Sacrifice, in the twelfth month of the year, all things are gathered together for a meal. Laba porridge is made with food from all directions and cooked in one pot with rice. It means gathering all things and harmonizing thousands of spirits. Plowing in spring, harvesting in autumn, tilling in summer and storing in winter. Our ancestors used seasonal changes to arrange the taste of food, which has become the cultural gene of every Chinese. The national sense of ritual comes from internalizing the hard work of work into the sweetness of life. This is an ordinary story about time, and it is also the eternal story of the Chinese themselves. Gold hooks and silver strokes, firewood, rice, oil and salt, inherit the mellow life and the yearning for beauty.
