Steps
-
Warm the milk, add the yeast and stir evenly, let it sit for a few minutes, pour it into a flour basin, mix the flour, sugar, salt, oil, milk and yeast, and knead it into a smooth and non-sticky dough.
-
Divide the dough into small pieces of about 30 grams, put the large dough into a basin, cover with plastic wrap, and ferment in a warm place until it doubles in size
-
Knead the cocoa powder into the small dough, add a little water appropriately, cover the kneaded dough with plastic wrap, and wait for the large dough to ferment.
-
Divide the fermented large dough into small doughs of 30 grams each. Take the small dough, knead it into a smooth surface, flatten it, put a little red bean filling, tighten the mouth, and put it in a steamer.
-
After all the white dough has been completed in step 4, take the cocoa powder dough, sprinkle a little hand flour on it, roll it into a thin sheet, and use a round mold to press out the eyes
-
Take two round shapes, use a rolling pin to roll them into ovals, and then use a 0.5cm piping tip to press out two small holes. If you don’t have a piping tip, you can also use chopsticks of similar width
-
Use a brush to brush a thin layer of water on the surface of the white dough, and glue the newly made eyes on it
-
Then take an appropriate amount of cocoa powder dough, roll it into a round ball, make ears and nose respectively, and cook in cold water for about 15 minutes. After turning off the heat, simmer for 5 minutes before opening the lid to prevent the dough from shrinking
