Ingredients
Steps
-
Knead all the bread ingredients except butter together until smooth dough
-
Add butter and continue kneading until the film is formed, and then proceed to the first fermentation
-
Take out the risen dough and deflate it, divide it into 6 equal pieces of dough, roll it into a ball and let it rest for 15 minutes. (Take three of the dough to make Santa Claus bread, and three of the dough to make garland bread.) Make one of the three doughs for a hat (take 5 grams of the dough for the hat to make a hat pom-pom), one for the beard, and one for the face (take 8 grams of the dough for the face and knead it into a small ball to use as a nose)
-
Take the dough for making the hat and roll it into a triangular shape
-
Fold the pointed part over and roll up the round part below to use as a Santa hat
-
Take the dough for the beard and roll it into an oval shape and fold it in half. Do not fold to align
-
Cut into thin strips with a knife, do not cut off the top end
-
Each strand is twisted into a spiral to create a beard.
-
Roll the face dough into an oval and use it as Santa’s face
-
Once done, assemble them together and place on a baking sheet for secondary fermentation
-
After fermentation is complete, brush the whole thing with egg wash. Add an appropriate amount of red yeast rice powder to the remaining egg liquid to turn it red. Use the red egg liquid to paint Santa's hat and nose red. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake for 18 minutes. Take it out and let it cool. Sift powdered sugar over the ball, edge and beard of the hat, and use chocolate beans as eyes.
