Overview

The Qingming Cake that is eaten during the Qingming Festival in my hometown is a kind of rice ball. After the rice is steamed, fried bamboo shoots, prunes, shredded pork, shiitake mushrooms, clam leaves, etc. are added to it and then kneaded into a ball.

  1. Rinse the rice clean, put cold water into the pot, and stir it properly while cooking to avoid sticking to the pot.

  2. Cook until the rice grains can be broken.

  3. Drain out the rice soup, steam until cooked and set aside.

  4. Pour a small amount of cooking oil into the pot, then add the diced fat pork and stir-fry until the oil is released.

  6. Add dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, salt, chicken essence and cooking wine and simmer for a while.

  7. Then add the modified and processed prunes, mushrooms, carrots, and spring bamboo shoots.
