Overview

I had never thought about making pasta before, and making steamed buns always seemed too troublesome to me. But after I gave birth to my baby, I felt that I should still make some healthy and nutritious food by myself. Whether it is dinner, breakfast, or snacks, I can try to make steamed buns, noodles, etc., so that my family can eat deliciously and feel safe.

  1. Brew a small bowl of pure milk (about 150ML) with warm water. You can also prepare a bowl of warm water without the milk. Add an appropriate amount of dry yeast powder and a small spoonful of sugar. Stir until it is dissolved evenly to make yeast water and set aside. (The amount of yeast used is about 2%~2.5% of the total amount of flour)

  2. Prepare a larger basin and put in flour, either high-gluten flour or medium-gluten flour. Let the previously mixed yeast water cool and then add it to the flour. Stir with chopsticks while adding, and stir the flour into a flocculent form.

  3. Knead the fluffy flour with your hands until it becomes a smooth dough, then cover it with gauze or a lid and wait for the flour to rise (about 1 hour).

  4. While waiting for the dough to rise, you can prepare the filling. Cut the pork belly into large pieces and put it into a blender to make minced meat. If you don't have a blender, you can also use a knife to mince the meat. Add an appropriate amount of sweet potato starch or cornstarch to the minced meat, so that the meat will taste more tender. Stir evenly and marinate for 40 minutes.

  5. Add chopped carrots and chopped green onions to the marinated meat, mix well and add an appropriate amount of salt, set aside. You can also add some mushrooms or dried shrimps according to your preference.

It will be cooked in about 15 minutes after the water boils. Do not take the buns out immediately and let them simmer for about 5 minutes, otherwise the buns may shrink.
