Overview
Paper mulberry is a common wild tree species in the north and can grow in corners and ditches. There are different male and female trees of paper mulberry. The male flowers are catkins like poplar trees. When they are not blooming, they look like elongated green mulberries. After blooming, they turn into light yellow. The female flower is like a small ball, which turns into a bright red ball when mature. It is a favorite of magpies and other birds. The main ingredient of this dish is unbloomed male flowers.

Wash the paper towel and drain the water. Add a tablespoon of salt during the last wash.

Add flour to the drained paper towel and mix well so that each paper towel strip is covered with flour and cannot stick to one piece.

Heat oil in a wok, add shredded green onion, shredded ginger and five-spice powder. When the shredded green onion changes color slightly, add paper towel. Stir-fry, add salt, and stir-fry until the noodles are browned. Remove from the pan.
