Pure hand-painted calf white jade scroll
Overview
I wanted to make this white jade scroll before the Chinese New Year. Because this year is the Year of the Ox, I wanted to make it with a calf pattern. Unexpectedly, I didn’t have time to bake during the winter vacation. Although I cooked every day, I just didn’t have time to take pictures. Take advantage of this Greenleaf Walnut Oil event to fulfill your wish. The white jade roll is a stuffed cake wrapped in glutinous rice skin. The glutinous rice skin recipe comes from Amanda Manda. The cake uses the hot noodle yogurt ancient cake made by herself, which is the recipe "Hot Noodles to Make Tender Ancient Zao Cake" posted yesterday. The filling is taro paste and purple sweet potato filling. The cute calf is painted with bamboo charcoal powder on the glutinous rice skin. It is fun, beautiful and delicious. I believe it will definitely capture the hearts of children.

Ingredients
Steps
-
Prepare materials and tools.
-
Pour raw glutinous rice flour, wheat starch, sugar, and milk into a bowl and stir evenly without any dry powder.
-
Add 10 ml Greenleaf walnut oil and stir until oil splash is no longer visible.
-
Wrap it in plastic wrap, poke a few ventilation holes, and microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes.
-
When you take it out, you can see that the surface and surroundings have condensed, but the middle and bottom are still liquid. Stir evenly with a spatula, then wrap it in plastic wrap and heat it on high for 30 seconds. If there is still liquid, repeat the stirring and microwave actions.
-
Spread fried glutinous rice flour on the chopping board to prevent sticking, and use gloves to knead the glutinous rice dough into a uniform and smooth state.
-
Then roll out the glutinous rice skin into a rectangular shape, as thin as possible. The width is the same as the length of the mold, and the length can wrap around the mold.
-
Draw the artwork on paper. If you don't know how to draw, find a simple drawing you like online and print it out. Then cut a piece of oil paper to cover the artwork. Finally, cover the glutinous rice skin on the oil paper. Add a little water to the toner to make a pigment juice. Use a fine brush to trace the revealed pattern. The skin of my glutinous rice is a bit thick, so the manuscript is not completely revealed. Fortunately, I can draw, so I can express myself freely.
-
Lay the patterned side of the glutinous rice skin down in the mold so that the pattern is right on the bottom.
-
Put the taro paste filling into a piping bag and cut a large hole at the sharp corner.
-
Brush some water on the glutinous rice skin, take a piece of cake and place it on the bottom of the mold.
-
Squeeze a layer of taro paste filling.
-
Layer another slice of cake.
-
Wrap the glutinous rice skin and cut off the excess skin.
-
Turn the mold over to unmold, straighten the shape and cut off the excess glutinous rice skin.
-
Cut into cubes and put a calf on each piece. Isn’t it cute?
-
Paired with a cup of red bean soup or coffee, it is delicious for breakfast or afternoon tea.
