Braised pork with pickled vegetables
Overview
When I was a kid, my family would make this pork belly dish with pickled vegetables during New Years and holidays. The dried vegetables are fragrant and the pork belly is thick. It tastes great!

Prepare ingredients

Add ginger slices, star anise, and two teaspoons of rice wine to the pork belly and cook for 20 minutes

Soak dried vegetables in boiling water

Remove the cooked pork belly and set aside. Prepare half a teaspoon of dark soy sauce and half a teaspoon of oyster sauce. Mix thoroughly and set aside

Mix the prepared dark soy sauce and oyster sauce and apply it to the pork belly

Put a little oil in the pan and fry the pork belly skin side down until the skin bubbles

Wash the soaked dried vegetables and set aside. Cut the fried pork belly into thicker slices and set aside

Add half a teaspoon of dark soy sauce, half a teaspoon of chili powder, ground ginger, pepper, a third of a teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of rice wine and a little chicken powder, mix well

Put a little bit of oil in the pot and stir-fry the dried vegetables, add a little salt and chicken powder to taste and set aside

Prepare a large bowl of pork belly and place it neatly with the skin side down

Pour the stir-fried dried vegetables over the cooked pork belly

Put it in a steamer and steam over high heat, then turn to medium heat and steam for an hour and a half

The steamed pork belly is placed on a plate and ready to eat
