  1. Fresh winter melon purchased at the supermarket or market.

  2. Peel off the outer skin of the winter melon, hollow out the seeds in the middle, wash and cut the winter melon into segments about 5 cm wide with a knife.

Cut a section of winter melon lengthwise from the peeling point into several 1 cm wide slits. Be careful not to cut each cut, so it will still look like a whole piece of winter melon.
