Overview
Painted cake rolls are made by using cake batter to draw your favorite pattern on the cake roll. What I made is: Pleasant Goat and Welcome the Spring Festival.

Ingredients
Steps
-
Prepare two clean, oil-free and water-free containers to separate the egg whites and egg yolks;
-
Separated egg yolk;
-
Mix the egg yolks and caster sugar and beat with a whisk. Add corn oil (any flavorless vegetable oil will work) in two batches. Beat each time with a whisk until evenly mixed before adding the next time. After adding corn oil, the egg yolk is still thick. Add milk and mix gently to combine.
-
Mix the low-gluten flour and baking powder, sift into the egg yolks, and mix evenly with a rubber spatula to form an egg yolk batter.
-
Start beating egg whites: Add 80 grams of sugar into the beaten egg whites in three batches, and finally beat the egg whites to a wet foamy state. (After lifting the whisk, the egg whites pull out curved sharp corners)
-
First put 1/3 of the egg whites into the egg yolk bowl and mix evenly (mix from the bottom up).
-
Then add the remaining egg whites to the egg yolks and mix evenly. (Stir from the bottom up)
-
Take a small amount of cake batter and put it into a small bowl, add red coloring and brown coloring and stir evenly;
-
Put the red cake batter and brown cake batter into disposable piping bags respectively, place a pattern under the oil paper on the baking sheet, trace the pattern with the above two colors of cake batter, put it in the oven at 180 degrees, bake for 3 minutes, take it out and let it cool;
-
Then pour all the original cake batter into the patterned baking pan, scrape it evenly, shake it a few times to drive away the air bubbles, put it in the oven, and bake at 180 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes;
-
After baking, put it on the drying rack to cool slightly, turn it over and spread the jam;
-
Roll up the rolled cake with oil paper, set it into shape, refrigerate for half an hour and then slice it.
