Overview

I forgot to take a picture of the finished product after steaming, so there is only a picture of the freshly made finished product. Yong Tofu is an indispensable dish during the Chinese New Year in our hometown. Tofu means blessings. My family all likes this dish, so I learned how to cook it just like my mother.

  1. Soak the mushrooms in advance, wash and chop the green onions, peel the water chestnuts and set aside

  2. Wash tofu and set aside

  3. Chop the meat, mushrooms and pork, of course the more minced the better; rub the water chestnuts into fine paste;

  4. Mix chopped green onion, water chestnuts, and meat together, add peanut oil, soy sauce, salt, and cornstarch, and stir together evenly;

  5. Poke a small opening in the tofu with your hands, stuff the meat into the tofu, add cold water to the pot, and steam for 30 minutes
