Ingredients
Steps
-
Mix the ingredients except butter, egg wash (to brush the surface) and black beans (to make the eyes) and knead it into a dough.
-
Knead into a dough. Next, start kneading into an expanded dough.
-
Add softened butter and continue kneading the dough, this time for 4-5 minutes
-
Now cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place. It's colder in winter, so it usually takes an hour.
-
I wanted to make my Christmas hat and big nose red. I didn’t buy red yeast rice powder at home, so I tried soaking wolfberry in water. The result was not obvious last time. It seems that this method is not advisable. It is recommended to use red yeast powder for dyeing, the effect is good.
-
When the dough is ready, poke holes with your hands and it will be ready if it does not collapse or shrink.
-
Now let’s weigh the dough. Then cut into appropriate sizes.
-
This dough is 556 grams, divided into 2 equal parts, each is 276 grams, to make two Santa Clauses. Each piece is 276 grams, and should be divided into proportions of 50% (138 grams), 30% (83 grams), and 20% (55 grams), respectively, as the base, beard, and face. The face should be divided into proportions of 50%, 20%, 20%, and 10% as the hat ball, nose, mustache, and eyebrows.
-
Start making. Roll the largest ball into a drop shape and make it as long as possible
-
Then use the beard dough and roll it into a semi-circle.
-
Start by trimming your beard, then twist each strand to make it thicker.
-
.Place the hat ball and nose directly on the remaining dough, roll the beard part into small strips and press them together. Twist your eyebrows to the same width as your face. Use black beans for eyes. In order to make the beard thicker, I also cut the part of the base that is covered like the beard into long strips to make it look like a beard.
-
Then cover it with plastic wrap, then get a basin in the oven and put the baking sheet with the shaped dough in it. Let rise for 20 minutes. Take it out and apply it with a small amount of egg wash.
-
Preheat oven to 175 degrees for 5 minutes. Then put the baking sheet in and bake at 175 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Just color it. After baking for 8-10 minutes, you can smell the aroma of bread. It has been colored in 15 minutes. If you don't like the dark color, just cover it with a layer of tin foil. I like red cheeks, so I baked them for 20 minutes.
