Steps
-
Prepare all the ingredients, sprinkle yeast and about 20g of sugar into the flour and mix well. ,
-
Pour the oil into the flour, add warm milk (around 30 degrees, it feels warm to the touch, not hot) into the flour in small amounts and several times, and stir into a fluffy consistency as shown in the picture.
-
Knead it into a smooth dough with your hands (it takes about 10 minutes)
-
Place it in a warm place to rise (I did it in water around 20 degrees Celsius), just like the honeycomb shape in the picture.
-
Knead the dough to remove the air and cut it into equal-sized dough pieces.
-
Roll out the dough into a thin piece about 0.5cm thick, and spread it with bean paste (just spread it sparingly, otherwise it will be easy to roll it out in the next step)
-
Roll out the wrapped "bean paste bun" and cut it with a knife on the nice side. Just make sure you can see the bean paste. Don't cut it.
-
Then pinch it on the back (it’s easier to pinch with some water)
-
Grease a baking sheet and place the caterpillar bread on the front. Brush a layer of warm water on the bread, then brush it with egg wash, and finally brush it with honey (the bread will be thicker and taste better after the honey is baked)
-
Bake in the oven at 170 degrees for 20 minutes. The bread will come out fragrant and very delicate inside.
