Overview
Eyebrow beans are the seeds of the leguminous plant Phaseolus vulgaris, which are spherical or oblate, slightly larger than soybeans, and may also be shaped like cashew nuts, also known as rice beans. Distributed in Hebei, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Yunnan and other provinces of China, there are also products in Vietnam. Meidou is the name that Cantonese people are used to. Eyebrow beans are sweet, mild in nature, salty, non-toxic, and enter the spleen and kidney meridian; they have the effects of strengthening the spleen, quenching thirst, tonifying the kidneys, producing essence, harmonizing the five internal organs, regulating the health, regulating the body and replenishing qi; it can be boiled to treat thirst and thirst, and used externally to treat mumps.
