Glutinous rice and lotus root
Overview
This dish is made by soaking glutinous rice, stuffing it into lotus root eyes, and adding red dates and brown sugar to cook it. We eat a lot of big fish and meat during the Chinese New Year, so why not try this Chinese dessert? It’s really nice to add a dessert like this to the New Year’s Eve dinner table.

Prepare materials.

Soak the glutinous rice in water for more than 5 hours, drain and set aside.

Mix the drained glutinous rice with brown sugar.

Wash and peel the lotus root, select the thinner end and cut it into about one-fifth.

Fill the cut lotus root with soaked glutinous rice, put the two pieces of lotus root together and secure them with toothpicks.

Add water to the pressure cooker, add rock sugar, brown sugar, and red dates and cook for 15 minutes. When eating, slice and top with sugar, osmanthus, and honey juice.
