Overview

Oil cake is a common snack in Shaanxi. It is a fried pastry with an oval shape. The filling is usually brown sugar or white sugar. The skin of the oil cake is crispy, the texture is soft and tender, and the taste is sweet and delicious.

  1. Prepare materials.

  2. Add water to the pot and boil the water to 100 degrees.

  3. Turn to low heat, add flour and mix quickly, turn off heat and cover the pot for 5 minutes.

  4. Take out the cooked noodles, break them into small pieces and let cool.

  5. Add vegetable oil and dry flour to the cool hot noodles and knead them repeatedly.

  6. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 2 hours.

  7. Toast the walnut kernels and sesame seeds separately in the oven, chop the walnut kernels with a knife and set aside.

  8. Add chopped walnuts, sesame seeds, sugar, cooked flour, and osmanthus sauce to a large bowl and mix well.

  9. Divide the risen dough into small portions.

  13. Add oil to the wok and heat until 40% hot.
