Mugwort fruit
Overview
Qingming fruit is also called wormwood fruit. It is eaten before the Qingming Festival in our hometown. It can be said to be a special snack. I haven’t eaten this outside in a few years. Recently, I have seen everyone posting it in the circle of friends. I am so greedy. But no one here knows how to make it, so I have to pick the wormwood and make it myself. I saw other people’s methods and found that the skin was not green enough, or it looked like it was just chopped grass. It’s not as beautiful as the green ones in my hometown. I could tell at a glance that the texture of the skin wasn’t strong enough, so I called back to ask for advice. The result was pretty good, but there was a bit of bitterness due to too much grass, and I couldn’t make the buns. It was hilarious, haha! !

Steps
-
Put a pound of powder into a bowl of water, add some baking soda, put the mugwort in and bring to a boil, then turn down the heat. Pour the powder on top of the mugwort. Do not touch the edge of the pot to avoid burning. When the water for the mugwort is almost dry, turn off the heat and knead the dough while it is hot. The dough should be harder than the bun noodles. If it is too hard, you can add some hot water. It is best to mix it with your hands and mix slowly
-
Make the dough into a harder bun
-
Divide into small portions
-
Roll into dumpling skin
-
The fillings can be freely matched. Mine is minced and fried tofu, minced meat, chopped bamboo shoots, stir-fried eggs, a little salt, wine, and light soy sauce. The taste is very fresh. Add some green onions when wrapping. You can also use bean paste. I have both sweet and salty ones in my hometown

Wrap up
-
I don’t know how to make buns, just take a look and pass haha
-
I can’t look directly at my own buns, so I just make dumplings. Those who know how to make dumplings may not necessarily know how to make steamed buns haha
-
Steam for ten minutes over high heat
-
The stuffing is cooked, so it’s time to steam the skin, it will cook faster
-
Adding baking soda keeps the grass green, and it can also boil the grass. You can’t tell that grass has been added

Here is one made by my old family, the difference between a novice and a god haha, but the skin is the same, but the presentation is not good
