Milk toast
Overview
For a lazy person like me, I have a bread machine and a dough mixer at home, but I can still knead the dough by hand to make toast? Just to experience the sense of accomplishment that people say when kneading out the dough by hand~~ In fact, a long time ago, before I bought a bread machine, I kneaded dough with Jun Zhi. As long as I kneaded it so hard that my hands were almost broken and I didn’t see the dough...

Steps
-
Put all the ingredients into a deep basin, reserve 20g of water for adjustment, and use chopsticks to stir into a dough
-
Move the dough to the kneading mat and start kneading with your wrists
-
The dough will be very sticky at first, but be sure not to add flour
-
Keep kneading and kneading, and you will find that the dough slowly takes shape and is no longer sticky
-
After kneading for about 10 minutes, you can pull out the rough membrane
-
At this time add softened unsalted butter and wrap the butter in the middle of the dough
-
Continue kneading the dough. At this time, the dough has become muddy again. Ignore it and continue kneading...
-
After kneading for 5 minutes, the dough became smooth and non-sticky
-
Continue kneading for another 10 minutes, and it has reached the complete stage. You can make toast, blah blah~~~
-
Shape the dough into a round shape, place it in a basin and cover it with plastic wrap for the first fermentation to double in size
-
Take it out, knead the air out, divide it into 3 equal parts, and let it rest for 15 minutes
-
Flatten the dough and roll it into a beef tongue shape (if the dough is sticky, use appropriate amount of flour)
-
Roll it up from top to bottom
-
Turn the direction and roll it out again, turn it over and thin the bottom edge
-
Roll it up from top to bottom and pinch it tightly
-
Do it in sequence, place it in the toast mold, and ferment for the second time. When it doubles in size, brush with a layer of egg wash
-
Put it into the preheated oven, 180 degrees, middle layer, and bake for about 30 minutes with upper and lower heat (the temperature and time are for reference, it took 40 minutes to bake this in my other oven)
-
During the baking process, when you see that the toast is colored to your desired level, cover it with tin foil and take it out to cool immediately after the time is over
-
Spread jam
