Heart to Heart - Mustard Biscuits
Overview
Xin Xin Xiang Yin is made by kneading the center part of pickled mustard with low-gluten flour and other auxiliary ingredients, carving out the shape with a heart-shaped biscuit mold, and then baking it. The mustard core and flour are fully printed together, and the shape of a heart is added. When getting married, the mother's family prepares the heart to be in harmony, which means that they hope that the couple will be in harmony with each other in the future, care and trust each other, and the life will be better and better. It is a modern fashion to bring such snacks to your wedding.

Prepare the required raw materials. (I forgot to take a picture of the sugar)

Chop the mustard cubes into as small pieces as possible.

Bake the chopped mustard in the oven to remove the moisture. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees for about 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it while baking and don't bake it too dry.

Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk and let it sit for a few minutes, then add the other ingredients and mix together. (Butter softened at room temperature in advance)

Knead the mixed ingredients into a smooth dough, cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 20 minutes.

Use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a rectangular shape.

Fold one end from 1/3 to the middle.

Fold the other end from 1/3 to the middle to complete a three-fold fold.

After folding, close the edge downwards. Roll it out into a rectangle again, then fold it in thirds, roll it out again and fold it in thirds, folding it three times in total.

After the third fold is completed, roll the dough into a thin sheet about 3mm thick, and use a fork to make small holes on it. (The roll should not be too thick, otherwise it will not be crispy when baked)

Cut out the shape using a heart-shaped cookie cutter. (The remaining scraps are rolled into cakes and cut into biscuit embryos until the carving is completed)

Place the biscuit embryos on a baking sheet lined with tin foil, spray a little water on the surface, put it in the preheated oven at 170 degrees for about 10 minutes, turn off the oven when it starts to color, and bake it for a while with the residual heat.
