Pumpkin Sticky Rice
Overview
During pumpkin season, all kinds of pumpkins are on sale. I bought a golden melon and am going to make steamed pumpkin with glutinous rice. The soft and glutinous rice paired with the sweet pumpkin absorbs the flavors of each other and is more delicious than steamed glutinous rice alone. Moreover, pumpkin has high nutritional value and is a seasonal fruit and vegetable. It is better to eat more at this time than anything else.

Prepare the raw materials and soak the glutinous rice in water half a day in advance.

Boil the soaked glutinous rice in boiling water for 2-3 minutes. The pumpkin I bought today is a bit big, so I'm afraid the rice won't be able to steam it through. If it's a very small pumpkin, you don't need to boil it, just soak it.

Remove the cooked rice, add black currants, corn kernels, honeyed red beans, then add red dates, candied dates and white sugar and stir evenly.

Cut off the top of the pumpkin and scoop out the seeds

Add the mixed rice and steam over medium heat for 40 minutes. Add the cut lid but don't cover it and set it aside to steam.
