Soak red beans overnight;

Put it into the pot and cook for two minutes to remove the beany smell;

Simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes until the water is dry and the red beans are cooked but not rotten;

Pour in the sweet potato cubes, bring to a boil over medium-high heat, leave a hole in the lid, turn to low heat and simmer;

Stir continuously during the process and simmer over low heat until the corn grits are thick and the sweet potatoes are soft and rotten;
