Panda buns

Panda buns

Overview

I have wanted to make this panda for a long time, and I finally made the decision yesterday. Yi Ya likes to eat sesame seeds, but not sesame paste. However, Yi Ya is still young and may not digest it easily if she eats sesame seeds all the time, so she thought of kneading sesame powder into the dough. The little guy really likes this! To be honest, the moment I opened the pot lid after steaming yesterday, I was a little too cute and reluctant to eat it, haha. (Taking the photo at night, the finished picture is a bit yellowish, but the buns are actually very white!)

Steps

  1. Prepare materials. (You can also wrap stuffing in the panda. I don’t have much at home, so I won’t wrap it up.)

  2. Take 150g of flour, add appropriate amount of white sugar, dissolved yeast powder and appropriate amount of water and stir

  3. Take 50g flour, 50g sesame powder, dissolved yeast powder and white sugar, stir

    Panda buns step 3
  4. Knead each into a non-sticky ball

    Panda buns step 4
  5. Put water in the pot and boil it until it is warm (about 45 degrees), put the dough into the pot, cover it with a damp cloth, finally, cover the pot and wait for fermentation

  6. It’s almost ready when it ferments until it doubles in size

    Panda buns step 6
  7. The fermented dough needs to be kneaded to deflate. Then, take the white dough and roll it into a round shape to be the face of the panda; take the black dough and make it into two ears, two eyes, and a nose (the ears and eyes should be made slightly flat, and the nose should be rounded)

  8. After everything is done, steam it in a steamer for 30 minutes

  9. What it looks like after steaming (I’m a little impressed by the cuteness. The lighting in this photo is relatively correct, and the color of the steamed buns is also correct)
