Mix flour, black sesame powder and sugar together

Mix 3 grams of yeast and 300 grams of warm water together to dissolve the yeast.

Mix the flour and yeast water together, knead it into a smooth dough, and let it rise in a warm place until it at least doubles in size. (I put it directly into the bread machine and selected the fermentation button.)

Fermentation is ready

Take out the dough and deflate it, that is, knead it into dough again and roll it into a large rectangular sheet

Sprinkle with salt, pour in soybean oil and spread evenly. You don’t need to put too much oil, just rub it on the surface, and the salt too

Then sprinkle with five-spice powder and spread evenly

Take out a section, press it down in the middle with chopsticks or the back of a knife, and stretch it out along the impression

Pinch the two ends with your hands, rotate them 180 degrees, and pinch the two ends together to form the flower roll.

After kneading everything, place it in a warm place to rise for about 10 minutes

Pour cold water into the pot and place the flower rolls on the steaming curtain lined with drawer cloth

Bring to a boil, then turn off the heat after 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and simmer for two minutes to prevent shrinkage.
