Grilled green beans with pork belly (Northeastern style)

Overview

Yu Mo is a northeastern girl who lives in the south. Due to work reasons, she rarely visits her hometown. Every holiday season inevitably evokes a strong sense of homesickness and the taste of her hometown... Let’s get back to the subject, today I recommend to you a dish from my home, "Roasted Green Beans with Pork Belly and Kidney Beans". This dish can completely dispel Yu Mo’s homesickness! Hope you all like it!

Ingredients

Steps

  1. Wash the kidney beans, remove the ends and corners and break them into sections for later use; wash, peel and cut the potatoes into cubes for later use.

  2. Prepare bean paste, garlic cloves, and a pot of boiling water.

  3. Wash and slice the pork belly.

  4. Put the sliced pork belly into a clean bowl, put an appropriate amount of light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and oyster sauce in the bowl and marinate for 5 to 10 minutes.

  5. Marinated pork belly.

  6. Put less oil in the pot.

  7. Add the kidney beans (kidney beans) and stir-fry over medium heat until the kidney beans are bright and slightly browned on the surface, then set aside (PS: The purpose of this is to stir out the sugar inside the kidney beans, which can improve the taste of the kidney beans to a certain extent, but be careful not to burn the pot!!!).

  8. Add oil to the pot, put the cut potato pieces into the pot and stir-fry until the four sides are translucent, then remove from the pot and set aside (potatoes are easy to dry out when stir-frying, so you need to pay more attention to the frequency of stir-frying).

  9. After everything is ready, it’s officially time to start! Heat up the oil! ! ! ! ! Pour the prepared ginger slices into the pot and stir-fry.

  10. After the ginger slices are fragrant, add the marinated pork belly and stir-fry.

  11. When the pork belly is cooked, add rock sugar (if there is no rock sugar, you can use white sugar instead), stir-fry over medium heat until the rock sugar melts (the rock sugar is added to color and freshen the meat, and enhance the taste of the meat).

  12. After the rock sugar melts, add a tablespoon of bean paste and stir-fry evenly with the meat.

  13. Add a small amount of light soy sauce and dark soy sauce to enhance the flavor and color.

  14. Add the prepared green beans and potato cubes, and stir-fry evenly with the green beans.

  15. After stir-frying evenly, pour in the prepared boiling water until the amount of water is even with the ingredients, cover and bring to a boil over high heat. After the water boils, add garlic cloves to enhance the flavor, turn to medium to low heat, cover and simmer.

  16. When the soup is slightly reduced, add salt to the pot (because there is a lot of soy sauce and bean paste, it is not advisable to add too much salt), cover and continue cooking until the soup dries up and remove from the pot.

  17. Take it out of the pot and put it on the plate. This northeastern-style pork belly and green beans is ready (Baijia Baiwei, this is how my family makes it). Paired with a bowl of rice, the calories will definitely be high. . . No matter what, I just like the taste!
