Cornmeal and plain flour are ready. I used about a 4:1 ratio.

Warm the milk and add the yeast to melt. Pour into flour. Stir with chopsticks.

Knead into soft dough. I didn't measure the amount of milk. The dough should be very soft and not too shapeless when grasped. Ferment for 1 hour. It was good when I was young.

Knead briefly for a few times, then put it into the steamer and pat it into a cake about 4cm thick.

Cut off jujube meat from big red dates. Press the jujube meat on the dough at will. Cover and steam for 20 minutes after boiling the pot.
