Prepare marinade: mix salt, sugar, cornstarch, oil, oyster sauce, cooking wine and water thoroughly. Wash the spareribs, cut into sections, mix well with marinade, and marinate for 30 minutes

Chop the black bean into fine pieces; remove the stems and seeds from the red pepper, wash and cut into pieces; cut the onion and garlic into fine pieces, add to the ribs and mix well

Arrange the ribs into a deep plate and pour some of the marinade into the plate

Boil the water in the steamer, add the black bean pork ribs, cover and steam over high heat for thirty to fifty minutes, depending on the thickness of the meat on the ribs and the number of ribs, increase or decrease as appropriate
