Overview

There is a kind of delicacy called wing-stuffed rice, which is similar to grilled chicken wings, but has more flavor than it. The fragrant and glutinous rice is wrapped in chicken, and it is delicious and smooth with one bite. My daughter asked me to make rice stuffed with wings for her, but I couldn’t buy whole wings, so I made rice stuffed with medium wings for her. She was still not satisfied because she thought the medium wings were too small and the rice inside was too little. Then let’s have a big one - chicken drumsticks wrapped in rice!   1. Preparation work: 1. Remove the bones from the chicken legs and make small holes. 2. Soak the dried mushrooms in boiling water, peel the carrots, remove the skin and roots of the onions, and cut them into small cubes. 3. Cut half of the chives into sections and mince half, mince the garlic cloves, and cut the ginger slices into thick strips.

Put the chicken legs in a large bowl, add green onions, shredded ginger, cooking wine, 1 tablespoon light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon oyster sauce, tomato sauce, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon sugar, starch, mix well, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for more than 3 hours. I marinated overnight.

  3. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add diced onions, diced carrots, diced mushrooms, minced chives, and minced garlic, stir-fry until fragrant, and stir-fry until the minced garlic is slightly brown.

  4. Add 1 tablespoon of light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of sugar and stir well. Add the glutinous rice and stir well. You can taste it, and if it’s not flavorful enough, adjust the flavor again.

  5. Stuff the fried glutinous rice into the chicken drumsticks. Don't stuff them too full or they will pop out after baking.

  6. Remove the onions and ginger from the sauce for marinating the chicken legs, add honey and mix thoroughly.

  7. Line a baking sheet with tin foil, place the chicken legs on the grill, and brush the surface with the prepared sauce. Preheat the oven to 180°C with upper and lower heat, and bake the middle rack for 20 minutes first.

  8. Turn over, brush with sauce again, and continue baking for 20 minutes. The temperature and time are related to the performance of the oven and the size of the chicken legs. Please adjust according to the actual situation and do not copy the recipe.
